Our company was founded in 1918 in the city of Osaka. At first we dealt with a varierty of medical instruments, including rubber product, surgical dressing materials, and other sets of supplementary medical products.

In 1963, the business was reorganized and a few years later, we entered into a distribution agreement with a pioneering manufacturer for catheters, which transformed the company to a nation-wide importing company dealing in minimally invasive devices, helping spearhead the advanced of medical care in Japan.
Subsequently, the company continued to expand its business to the fields of neuro surgery, cardiology, as well as endoscopic treatment. Along with the growth of the business, the company expanded its operations nationwide and in 1987, opened Sakai Distribution Center in Sakai city of Osaka prefecture, as the "control tower" for the company's logistic structure. At present, the company has expanded to 10 business locations throughout Japan.

In addition to our conventional medical device import business, the ‘medical devices manufacturing license’ was acquired in 1988, which enabled the company to sell its own manufactured products.

In 2006 the company successfully introduced the first ever Aortic stent graft in Japan, and obtained the approval for the second Coronary stent upon conducting its own clinical trial. Furthermore, the company started the importation and commercialization of Thrombectomy devices for acute stroke in 2011. As shown in those achievements, Medico's Hirata, has been at the forefront of introducing advanced medical devices and technologies into the Japanese market.

Moreover, we work closely with our partners and manufactures to implement market and customer feedback to improve the effectiveness of our products and devices. Our ambition to improve the treatment options for diseases that have been difficult to manage will not stop. And in this regard, we are constantly expanding our portfolio of products.
